This BGM is held on the 10th Anniversary of the 37th SSEAYP.
3 of our SPY10 have been nominated as candidates and will be among 32 former PYs who will be contesting for a seat in the 21-member SSEAYP International Singapore (SIS) Executive Board. They are Fong Yoong Kheong, Jed Senthil and Parveen Banu.
Let's hear from them on what spurs them on to participate in the SIS Executive Board election!
Jed Senthil
"With the new board term, we hope to further evolve SIS towards being more attractive for the youths today, and relevant for the 1000-strong members (made up of various professionals and talents)," Jed Senthil
Jed's aspiration for the new term of SIS Executive Board is to further evolve towards being more attractive for the youths today, and being relevant for the 1000-strong members, comprising of professionals and talents, from diverse backgrounds, racial groups and across batches. To do that, SIS would need an energetic and innovative team to implement fresh ideas and initiatives. A fresh team of Executive Board members that is diverse and representative of the SSEAYP alumni will be important. Jed also calls for having more females in the alumi Board to ensure a good representation.
Parveen Banu
"SSEAYP embodies the spirit of unity amidst diversity regardless of background and circumstances," Parveen Banu
Parveen envisages an SIS that mirrors the core values of SSEAYP and yet is nimble, energetic and flexible to leverage on the opportunities and challenges presented by today's VUCA climate.
Parveen aspires to create a blueprint for the SSEAYP community for both our local and international counterparts to identify key pillars we wish to work on and set clear, measurable outcomes on what we want to achieve. Parveen hopes to propel SIS to greater heights as a 21st century leader in thought leadership to help fulfil ASEAN's millennium development goals and remaining grounded to foster a united and passionate alumni.
Fong Yoong Kheong
"Our SSEAYP network could be a springboard for Singaporeans who aspire to make a change in the region; and a focal point for our ASEAN friends (and Japan) to connect and collaborate with us," Yoong Kheong
Now that you have read their profiles, remember to give them your support :)
Given the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, we do anticipate that options for virtual participation might be made available to avoid large gatherings. Let’s look forward to connecting in #sseaypspirit during the BGM. While awaiting for the Executive Board to confirm on the venue and format, please RSVP for the SIS BGM by 5 September 2020 via:
